Semeru volcano is located in east Java, Indonesia. It is one of the most active volcanoes in Indonesia. Typically eruptions occur every 20-30 minutes, with ash emissions to 100-400 m above the crater, and projectiles are ejected onto the crater rim.  Activity, as posted this morning by volcanologist John Seach, is typical of this volcano.
