Rocks of Atlantis May Have Been Found Beneath Bimini, Bahamas July 26, 2007

One of Edgar Cayce's readings in the Atlantis series (364-4) indicates that a portion of the lost continent "... may be seen in the present ... if the geological survey would be made ... in Bimini and in the Gulf Stream through this vicinity..." The Hutton Commentaries, Inc. (THC), working with donations of $60,000, and under a permit granted by the Government of the Bahamas, took rock cores in March 2007 from a drilling barge at three points in the Bimini Inlet. Core samples of strata recovered between 45 and 50 ft, along the center-line of the inlet, were dated by a C-14 determination and by the ages of coral types present.

The results revealed an unexpected discovery of a disconformity between early-Pleistocene rocks and the overlying Holocene sedimentary rocks and sediments. The authors conclude that the old land surface of Atlantis could be only 10 ft below sea level in one of the cores, but certainly no deeper than about minus 30 ft in all three of the cores. The missing late-Pleistocene strata beneath Bimini could easily represent an interval of time between roughly 120,000 to possibly only 5,000 years before the present (BP). According to several other Cayce readings it would have been during this time interval that three massive destructions of Atlantis took place, leaving only the minuscule fragment of Bimini above the waves.

THC has now completed a small first step in the geological survey of Bimini. We have now "seen" a portion of Atlantis in the rock cores recovered. Additional donations will be needed to continue this work.
